Season 1892–93 was the 20th season in which Dumbarton competed at a Scottish national level, entering the Scottish Football League for the third time, and the Scottish Cup for the 20th time. == Overview == As Dumbarton continued to maintain its amateur status, during the season the club lost the services of eight of its first team to the professional ranks of English clubs. For this reason, Dumbarton slipped to finish 7th in the Scottish League Championship with 17 points, 12 behind champions Celtic. In the Scottish Cup, Dumbarton were unsurprisingly defeated in the second round by Rangers. Elsewhere, Dumbarton retained the Dumbartonshire Cup, defeating Levendale in the final, but lost out to Celtic in the semi final of the Glasgow Charity Cup. During the season, 12 'other' matches were played, including fixtures against Linfield in Belfast, and Arsenal in London. Of these matches, 7 were won, 1 drawn and 4 lost, scoring 26 goals and conceding. The loss of so many players made the decision in May 1893 for the club to adopt professionalism unavoidable. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「1892–93 Dumbarton F.C. season」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
